PIX in Pittsburgh

Today was a great day! One of my friends had a table at PIX (The Pittsburgh Indy Comics Expo) and I was invited out to support her. I didn’t count on meeting so many amazing artists and wonderful people! I came away with a handful of zines, stickers, a pocketful of business cards, and a very nice pair of earrings from the amazing Lizzee Solomon.I got to pass out business cards as well and just talk shop with so many amazing artists who share the same interests as I do. It was exciting and eye opening and beautiful and I feel energized for just having talked to them.

Inktober

Did you know October was actually Inktober? It’s a chance for artists to get more accustomed to inking with traditional brush pens as well as inking pens and other traditional mediums. It was started by Jake Parker (who has really lovely inked drawings).

I only got to day 6 of Inktober, but I learned so much and will be inking as much as possible from now on

 

Mischief speed paint

So I began painting my roommate/room and things got a little meta as I got closer and closer to myself in the painting. There is more than enough clutter in my room that could have been added, but I would have been here all day adding it

Making Mischief

Here’s something I’ve been working on today, a toon-portrait of yours truly, done in the amazing program Mischief, it utilizes vector based painting, rather than pixels, and it keeps super detailed quality, no matter how far you zoom in.

Still going strong

Not much to say, besides I’m still going strong, I’ve gotten a few freelance projects under my belt and have gotten the opportunity to work with a lot of very talented people.

I also have been doing caricatures recently, the first gig with a good friend of mine, Kim Truisi you should check out her website Here.

I’ve also been given the chance to teach animation at the Pittsburgh Center of the Arts, thanks to said amazing friend(and a teacher from school).

So far I’ve been a TA for the last two weeks, and pretty soon I’ll be teaching a class. Wish me luck!

 

 

Hello world! It’s been a couple of months,

Hello world! It’s been a couple of months, but in that time I have taken a few freelance positions and have gotten a taste for working in my major, and I must say that it was really amazing!

I recently completed some storyboards that will be used for a short video here in Pittsburgh. All in all it’s been an amazing experience and I hope to do more freelance projects in the future

End Of The Jam

GGJ 2013 was so fun! I really got to feel like myself, creating as many pieces of art as possible in the 3 days time!  I am proud of myself and my amazing team. I can’t wait to make more games in the future!

Global Game Jam!

Once again I will be participating in the Global Game Jam here in Pittsburgh! Here is the link to the game I helped create last year.

I designed the mouse character as well as the star asset, and some levels and enemies that didn’t make it into the final game (but if you select info before you start the game you can see the spider enemy I made and animated 🙂 )

Newly Graduated!

Wow! It’s been a rough and tumble couple of weeks up to the finish line, but I made it, (along with my amazing classmates in the Media Arts and Animation Major) and I can finally say that I am a college graduate. Expect more art, keep posted to the art tabs.
